I am thrilled to coach the Rapids for a third year! We had a great 2024 and 2025, and I look forward to building on it in 2026.
My history with swimming began when I was four years old, competing in Summer League and adding an extra few minutes to every meet by stopping in the middle of the pool and waving to everyone instead of racing for the wall. Ever since then, I have been involved with the sport in some shape or form. I've been coaching for Summer League Teams for the past nine years, and in 2022 I made my way back to my former club team, Machine Aquatics, this time as the Head Site Coach for our Tysons location. With every team I've been a part of, I continue to believe that swimming is the best sport in the world. It should be fun, it should be fast, and it should be something you enjoy for your entire life. I can't wait to get back in the pool with our returning swimmers and meet the new members of our team!
Hello Rapids families! My name is Jason Cochran, and I have been an assistant coach with the Great Falls Rapids since the summer of 2019. I believe in creating a safe and positive environment at the pool where we can all enjoy the fantastic experiences provided in summer league swimming.
Outside of summer league, I am a USA Swimming certified coach and work for Machine Aquatics. This is my 18th year of coaching, and I have worked with swimmers ranging from beginners to Olympic Trials Qualifiers. Before joining Machine, I coached in Texas, Connecticut, and New Jersey. Away from the pool, I am a huge sports fan and support the NY Giants, NY Mets, NJ Devils, and both WVU athletics and Notre Dame Football!
Summer swim is the purest form of competitive swimming and can create lifelong memories and friendships. It also is an excellent introduction to the competitive swimming world and the start of your journey. I look forward to seeing you all at the pool this summer!
I’m really excited to be the minis head coach this summer! I’m a rising senior at Langley High School and I’ve been swimming for the rapids since 2020. I swim year around for Machine, and for the Langley swim team. This will be my third year being a swim coach for Rapids. And this year, I have been coaching for Machine afterschool. I have worked for RA for 2 years, as a lifeguard, and last year I got certified to be a Water Safety Instructor. I have also taught many private lessons over these past few summers, and I’m always open to helping kids with swimming. My phone number is 7034893590, and my email is [email protected] if you have any questions. Thank you, and I look forward to helping out future Rapid swimmers this summer!
