The Swim Team Banquet

The biggest event of the year by far is our end-of-season banquet.  We celebrate all of our swimmers, Mini's included, so please make sure all attend! The pool area is closed to the community so we can celebrate the team, and we gather for food, drinks and merriment.  The pool is open for kids to swim once our awards are given.

The awards are given by the coaches, and our yearly team slideshow is sure to have you laughing and crying all at the same time.

July 4th Parade

Every Year, the Rapids build and decorate a float and march in the Great Falls July 4th parade.  The team gets together over several days to design and decorate the float for the parade.  Then we march!

The Rapids have won "best float" in the parade for 10 years running.  Come help us make it 11!

Other Social Events

In years past, the team has had a Laser Tag morning on the "green beach" and in 2022, the Rapids sponsored a trip to Water Mine, for some water-park fun.  Apparently we just can't get enough of the water. We also often have a movie night out by the pool.

The team meets early in the season to decide and plan the events for the year.

FUN Friday Breakfasts

Summer Swim is a lot of things, but most of all, it's for teamwork and fun.  And nothing says that like our Fun Fridays!  The entire team practices together on Fridays (mini's practice at their regularly scheduled times), then there is a period of pool games, followed by a breakfast of pancakes, watermelon, juice and maybe some other goodies.

Pot Luck Pep Rallies

The Friday before home meets (we let you get some sleep before Saturday away meets) the Rapids have a Pot Luck Pep Rally!  The entire team, including Minis, are welcome.  Themes for the Pot Lucks will be sent out prior to the date.  Bring a dish to share and come and have a good time.  It's a great time to meet new families, and for the swimmers to enjoy some time outside of practice with each other.

We also practice cheers, prep signs, and get excited for the next day's meet.  An annual favorite Pep-Rally is a karaoke themed one in which all swimmers and coaches are encouraged to warm up their singing voices and get pumped!  It's a good time for all - singing or not!

Post Meet Lunches

After each away meet, the team gathers at a restaurant to enjoy a quick bite together before heading home.  We encourage swimmers to stay until the end of the meet to cheer on their teammates! It's best when we can all celebrate some great swims with lunch afterwards.

This year, we're also exploring having a team lunch at the club after a home meet!  Please stay tuned for more information.
