Hello Rapids!

Our July 4th Celebrate Great Falls parade is rapidly approaching! This year the procedure is a little different because the 4th falls on a Friday, and there is some rain expected this week.

Please read the following carefully about the order of events for building, decorating, and marching, and update your sign up accordingly.

I. Building the float frame

Sunday, June 29th, 10:00 - 12:30 pm (estimated) at 859 Constellation Drive

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to help! This step of the process will be primarily focused on building the frame of the float, using last year's wooden materials. Please bring water! This is an activity better managed by our older swimmers and adults. (No private house access is available, street use only).

II. Decorating the float

Thursday, July 3rd, 2:00 - 4:00 pm

The fun stuff! We need helping hands to make the frame look BEAUTIFUL and POP for the judges! We have banners, fringe, pennants, streamers, pom poms and flags to hang on the frame. Snacks and drinks will be served! This is where the magic happens! All ages welcome. (No private house access is available, street use only).

III. Parade Team March!

Friday, July 4th, 8:00 - 11:00 am

Final decorating touch ups @ 8:00 am: if you are interested in helping with the final touches, please join us at 8:00 am at the float.

General team gathering and march @ 9:00 am: Please be at the float no later than 9:00 am for spirit wear and gathering for the march. We will take a nice team photo before we march. IMPORTANT: Bring CANDY (to throw), Bring WATER (it gets HOT), and Wear SUNSCREEN!!! Wear your Rapids team T-shirt and your finest Red, White, and Blue spirit wear (go ALL OUT - the judges love it!).

After we march, we will meet back at the GFS&T Club for cool treats and wait for our GFS&T 4th party to begin.
