Rapids Weekly Update: A Meet Victory, B Meet Monday & Important Team Reminders

Hi Rapids Families,

What a great weekend for the Rapids!

Congratulations to all of our swimmers on a fantastic A Meet against Truro! The team put together an outstanding performance, earning a 220-200 victory while recording 46 Personal Best swims! We continue to see tremendous improvement across every age group, and we couldn’t be prouder of the effort, sportsmanship, and team spirit everyone brought to the pool.

Special shout out to Ashlee Gilson for stepping up as the announcer and doing a fantastic job!

A Meet results and the updated team ladder are attached.

Monday B Meet @ Langley

Entries are due by 10:00 AM Monday. Please make sure your swimmer is declared and signed up before the deadline.

Meet Timeline

  • Great Falls warm-ups: 5:25–5:45 PM
  • Meet begins promptly at 6:00 PM

Meet Information

  • IMs will be swum first on Monday.
  • Swimmers may swim 2 individual events + the IM.
  • Please only sign up for the IM if your swimmer can legally swim all four strokes. Langley’s coaches will be limiting IM entries accordingly, and we ask our families to do the same.
  • Swimmers may swim two strokes, but may not swim any event in which they scored at Saturday’s A Meet.

Parking

Parking will be tight due to the ongoing I-495 expansion project. Please note:

  • There is a new stop sign at the end of the overpass bridge entering the club. Please remind all drivers, especially teenage drivers, to watch for it.
  • The right half of the parking lot will be reserved for the visiting team.
  • If parking along the street, all four tires must be completely off the pavement.
  • Additional parking is available on the opposite side of the bridge once the street fills.
  • Please do not block intersections, fire hydrants, driveways, or emergency access.
  • Reserved parking will be available for coaches, team reps, and data volunteers.
  • Handicap parking is available at the front of the club.

Team Area & Spectators

Our team will set up on the side of the pool closest to the tennis courts.

  • Bleachers will be available for parents, but bringing your own chairs is encouraged.
  • Please enter the team area by walking behind the turn end of the pool.
  • Please do not walk across the starting end of the deck.

Snack Bar

A full snack bar will be available throughout the meet, including dinner options.

Team Pictures – Monday Morning

Don’t forget Team Photos are Monday morning at 7:45 AM!

Please arrive on time in your team suit so we can stay on schedule.

Looking Ahead

Friday A Meet & Relay Carnival

Please declare your swimmer’s availability now for both the Friday A Meet and Relay Carnival. Both are short weeks, and early declarations help our coaches tremendously with lineup planning.

Fourth of July Parade

We’re excited to represent the Rapids in the community parade! More details regarding meeting time, decorations, and parade information will be shared soon. Please RSVP in SwimTopia if you plan to attend so we can get an accurate head count.

Rapids Olympics

Entries are now open for Rapids Olympics, please declare your swimmer!

Please note:

  • There is no IM event at Rapids Olympics.
  • Because this is a home-only event, every family with a participating swimmer is expected to volunteer. We staff the entire meet ourselves, and it takes everyone pitching in to make this one of the most fun events of the season!

Thank you to all of our swimmers, families, volunteers, and coaches for making this another fantastic week. Let’s keep the momentum going as we head into another exciting week of racing!
