Hi Rapids Families,

Congratulations to all of our swimmers on another fantastic meet yesterday! We had 27 Personal Best swims, what a great way to close out our final A meet of the season. The meet results and updated ladder are attached.

Team Record

Congratulations to Alex Valmont for setting a new Rapids Team Record in Backstroke with a blazing time of 20.86 during our final A Meet of the season! Outstanding swimming, Alex!

Intersquad Meet – Monday Night

Please remember to declare your swimmer(s) for the Intersquad Meet by 9:00 AM tomorrow. There is no limit on the number of events, so everyone is encouraged to swim as much as they’d like this is the final opportunity to improve your position on the ladder!

Don’t forget to arrive early to cheer on our Mini Rapids as they kick off the evening!

Volunteers Needed

A huge THANK YOU to all of our parents for completely filling every volunteer position for yesterday’s meet without a single reminder! Your support keeps our meets running smoothly, and we truly appreciate it.

Because tomorrow’s Intersquad Meet is hosted entirely by the Rapids, we are responsible for filling every volunteer position ourselves. We currently still need 28 volunteers. If your swimmer is participating, please sign up to help if you haven’t already.

Shift 1 (Freestyle & Backstroke)

• 12 Timers
• 1 Griller (5:00 PM arrival)
• 1 Stroke & Turn Official
• 1 Chief Judge

Shift 2 (Breaststroke, Butterfly & IM)

• 11 Timers
• 1 Timer Runner (collect time cards and deliver them to the data table)
• 1 Clerk of Course (no experience necessary)

Divisional Meet Availability

If your swimmer is available and would compete if selected or called as an alternate, please mark them AVAILABLE in SwimTopia.

Please enter stroke preferences in order of interest in the coaches comments.

We will not know the final Divisional lineup until after the Team Representatives meeting on Thursday evening. Any swimmers who move into the meet as alternates will be contacted Thursday night or Friday morning.

We strongly encourage all alternates, and anyone hoping for an opportunity, to continue attending practice this week.

Rapids Team Record Policy

Over the last few weeks, it became clear among the Team Representatives that there were different understandings of when Rapids Team Records could be established.

To eliminate any future confusion, the policy has been clarified:

Times achieved at any Rapids swim meet are eligible to establish a new Rapids Team Record.

Banquet Reminder

This is your final reminder to RSVP for our End-of-Season Swim Team Banquet on Saturday, July 25.

Registration will close at the end of the day on Monday, July 20, so please be sure to RSVP before the deadline. We hope to celebrate an incredible season with all of our Rapids families!
